We offered M some banana yesterday - her first food! 
I put some mashed up on a spoon and she wanted total control over the spoon. She grabbed it as I was moving it towards her mouth and she shoved it into her mouth herself! She takes after her mom already at 5 months, she has to be in control.
Does your lo like to feed him/herself?

We just started with solids and my lo is the same way! Grabs the spoon, shoves it in her mouth, and won't let me take it out!

Yes!mine grabs the spoon too! Sometimes she won't take food unless I hand her the spoon!

So cute! My LO is sort of the opposite. He's happy to take food from a spoon and opens his mouth like a baby bird wen he wants more. When put a sippy cup in front of him, he will eagerly use his hands to direct the spout into his mouth and then let go. He expects me to tip the cup up so he can drink!

We are still on breastmilk and LO loves to hold his own bottle. It's so cute!

Yes! He loves to feed himself! It's so cute to watch him grab for little pieces of food and fiddle with them to feed himself. He has started to become interested in utensils but will take the food off the fork and then put the fork in his mouth (?!?!?). He also drinks out of his sippy cup like a drunken sailor...with one hand, leaned to the side in his highchair, and taking big gulps!

Yes. From the moment she could at 8 months, she barely let's anyone feed her now.

Yes! She loves to grab the spoon and sometimes we have to fight for it because every time she tries to feed herself she shoves the spoon too far in her mouth.
