@mrbee: yeaa we've been dealing with this for almost a year now. let us know if you find a solution. it's rough, but we're kinda riding it out hoping it'll pass. i feel like toddler sleep is harder than baby sleep to figure out!

@mrbee: hahaha nope, i wish i had a solution! our toddler keeps us up and wakes us up way more than our baby.

and you're actually scaring me with this post considering charlie is about a year older than noelle! i was hoping she'd grow out of this in her 3's!

@mrbee: yea i realize this just started for you, but it makes me a little discouraged knowing that even at 3 1/2-4ish they still wake up at night for things. i was hoping this was something they'd grow out of by that age. i wonder what age kids really do grow out of this type of thing without any sort of effort on our part (as in, how long should we expect to wait this out? i don't know if we can go on for another year or two!)…

@mrbee: @Mrs. High Heels: have you tried a tot clock? My friend's daughter started doing this around 2.5 and so she got a tot clock and her daughter stays in her bed until the clock changes color. She said the only downside has been that her LO has had a few accidents in bed bc she won't get out of bed to use the bathroom bc the clock hasn't changed color

we just take the boys back to bed whenever they come in to get us. I have to say though it can be quite alarming or to be honest a little creepy. James just stands by the bed and stares at us until we wake up. If they say they are too afraid i might stay and rub their backs for a bit but not long. We have had James on a floor a few nights because he had a bad dream but other than that they usually just go back to bed. I would like to say that sleep gets better at some point but we are at 5 years of not really having a night to ourselves very often. Its probably just having a lot of kids that does it. It seems like at least once every night someone wakes up.

@sandy: that's interesting! i wonder if it will work on DD because she's pretty strong-willed… not sure she'd stay in bed just cuz a clock tells her to… hmm.

My 5 yr has been doing this forever - a year, maybe 2??

I kinda wonder if he is waking to pee but then automatically just comes in my room.....

Anyway when he does wake I have him pee and then I take him back to bed - I will lay with him for a few mins then I leave - he usually falls back to sleep pretty fast - some days I feel like I still have a "baby" - its rare that I sleep all night w/o being woken up

If he does it again I do the same thing and then I tell him "this is it - if you come in my room again I will not be putting you back to bed"

Some nights he stays in bed and other nights I find him asleep in the office area of our bedroom the next morning
