Ugh, just need to vent. At work, we have one Mother's Room to pump in. We book our time through an on-line calendar. There's five or six of us that use it, so it's pretty much booked all day and we each have it for only 30 minutes at a time.
So I go down for my scheduled time and the woman who was just in there decides to chat me up after she's done! I wanted to scream at her "I don't have time to talk to you! I need to pump!!!!" UGH!!!

She should totally know better. I'd tell her next time in a sort of joking way that talking to her is using up your pumping time.

I would just walk past her and say, I'll chat with you later, and head into the room.

Ugh! What a stressor.
I pump in my office, but sometimes a client will come by and other people in the office will need their file. So I have to un hook from the pump and slide the file under my door. Embarrassing!!

Seriously! She's done it to me before too! AND this time she was talking about how the room is booked all day! I'm like "Uh, I know, and this is MY time!"
I think next time I see her, I'll just try to whiz by her and if she starts to talk to me, I'll try to be all "Can't talk! I have slow boobs! Need all the time I can get!"

@highwire: You're so lucky you have your own office! Though I can see how people stopping by would be annoying. At least when I'm in the Mother's Room, no one bothers me! (Most of my coworkers don't even know where I am)

@Dandelion: With my luck, she's probably one of those efficient pumpers and only needs the room for 15 minutes anyway - she just uses it for the last 15 minutes so I can't go in there early!

Psh, geez. Maybe you should go in wearing headphones and an iPod and when she tries to talk to you just point to the headphones, shrug, and walk on

@Adira: I would just be direct and say that while you don't want to be rude and would like to chat, that you are pressed for time. And then smile at her--and maybe even touch her arm--and say that you are sure that she understands!
