We will be calling the Pediatrician tomorrow, but I wanted to put this out there to see if we are reading into things too much/first time parent overreacting...
LO is 9 weeks and some days old. We are FF. This past week he threw up during his morning feed, on two different days. He wouldn't finish the feed afterwards and in general seemed disinterested in the bottle. We thought this was strange for a couple reasons, one of them being that he should be pretty ravenous considering he only wakes once at night and we don't give him a full bottle at that feed. He should be hungry for the first feed of the day!! He was smiling and cooing immediately after both mornings he threw up. He wouldn't eat much for the rest of those days. It was a struggle. We took him to the Ped and she said she thought maybe he just had a stomach bug and that he should feel better in a few days. She said as long as he was getting 20 oz, seemed happy, wasn't limp, and was making eye contact, he should be okay.
The past few days have been really tough to get him to eat. A couple weeks ago he was taking 27-29 oz a day, pretty easily except for sometimes being sleepy or distracted. Now, we can barely get him to drink 20-24 oz and it is a struggle. He acts so hungry, then spits up a ton, and wont finish the bottle. Or, he will push the bottle out of his mouth and scream. I give him the bottle back, he sucks, then screams. Then spits up. He spits up all throughout the day. He has plenty of wet and poopy dipes. I do think his dirty dipes are close to diarrhea consistency. No mucous or blood in his stool. He has a really stuffy nose all the time. We consistently are pulling adult size wet boogies out of his nose, or finding them on his face after a nap because he sneezed them out. He also will have a rash on his face within a few hours if we don't diligently wipe his face and neck after feeds. Like if the formula sits or soaks into his skin. He has no fever. He has a strong history of dairy allergy/sensitivity on his Dad's side of the family, from both sides of DH's family.
Thoughts?
