We are sending school lunch with our daughter and need to find a thermos that won't leak. I have a Thermos Funtainer and a Camelback Eddy and both leak if left on their sides.

We use a sport top insulated water bottle by Polar Bottle. LO was required to have something like this for water throughout the day for Kinder. We will use it again this year.

That is strange! We have both and neither leaks. I have the normal Fogo (non thermos) as well...

We have a Stainless Steel zoujirushi here. They are very well insulated and will keep things hot or cold and don't leak at all! both my 3 yr old and 18 month old have their own. My 3yr old has been rough with his but besides a few scratches it works great!

My daughter has a Camelbak Eddy and she just kept it in the side mesh pocket of her backpack and she could just get it out at the same time she got her lunch box out, when the class lined up for lunch. Leakage was never an issue the entire year.

Oddly our stainless Foogo never leaks but the Funtainers will leak sometimes. Also the plastic foogo leaks but the stainless doesn't.

@Matcha Latte: Are those easy enough for your older child to open and close on his own?

We use the stainless foogo bottles for both kids. We only have issues with leaking when I accidentally do not screw it on properly. Otherwise, it works well.

Our funtainers only leak if I fill it to the top. I also have a few versions and if you put the wrong straw insert in, it'll definitely leak. They look the same but are slightly different sizes. Might not be your issue, just throwing it out there! I order new ones periodically and store them in different ziplocs.

@JerricaBenton: that definitely might be our problem! We have a lot of different ones and I have no idea what straw goes with what cup.

@mediagirl: if you call the thermos 1800 number, you give them the item number from the inside of the cap and they'll send you new straws and straw lid inserts for something like $2. It takes a few weeks but I usually order them for the new school year.
