So I am registered for this mattress pad from American Baby Company:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001KZH69C?tag=blself-20
Now, I'm reading that it may not hold up well in the dryer. Does anyone have experience with this? What do you use?

That looks like the exact one we have. We haven't had any issues yet...we have two and they've been regularly used for only three months (before that DD wasn't sleeping in crib yet). I always wash in cold water/ gentle cycle and dry on low heat.

I'm pretty sure that's the one we have. We have 2 as well, and we've used them for almost 3 years now with no issues.

@Pancakes: oh awesome, thanks!
Maybe this was just a wacky Amazon review and I'm getting freaked over nothing. Leaving them on the registry for now

Every single mattress pad I have had has melted and gotten ruined in the dryer. And I use low heat gentle cycle. So I just air dry! They dry really fast.

We have this one and haven't had any issues: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2304185&cp=2255957.2273443.2440535.2647462.3250056&parentPage=family

@mrs. wagon: good to know, thanks!
@autumnlove: so you just put the sheet right over the mattress?
@sweet_p: can I ask, is it waterproof?

We have had that one in three cribs for 18+ months and it's been great. It has been waterproof for us, as in, the mattress stays dry. I wash the sheets more often than the pad, but the pad has held up in the dryer without any issue.

@MerryC: thank you! That's what I'm looking for-something to keep the mattress dry.

@LovelyPlum: Yes, sheet over mattress! No issues yet...but we haven't started potty training yet! Maybe I will get one when she sleeps in underwear at night.

We have always air dried ours as I was worried about melting. We have two for this reason. It dries fairly quickly (overnight) but I just put the other on while waiting for the drying.

@LovelyPlum: I'm not sure if it's waterproof, but we've had some big leaks and have never had any issues with the actual mattress being wet. Another thing I really like it is sized to allow for shrinkage. I've washed ours multiple times and it still fits perfectly. Hope this helps!
