Our 26 month old has been waking up @3 and going back to sleep until 5 or he will wake up at 4 for the day!!! This has been going on for @ 2 weeks. I'm very nervous about the time change that coming. Any suggestions for this sleep-deprived momma?

DS did this right around 2 for a few weeks. It passed. No tips, just sympathy!

We bought a Gro clock. Best investment ever! If you think he's ready I highly recommend. Our DD knows to stay in bed if her sun isn't up. The little book really helps too. If she does wake up she can "read" her books. But not get out of bed.

My LO is almost the same age. We were going through this for a while (though wake up was more like 5 at least). I actually started putting her down for naps slightly earlier (1 instead of 1:30) and don't let her sleep too late. Her afternoon naps have actually gotten a little shorter, but now she more reliably sleeps to a reasonable hour. Took me a while to figure it out because she would still go to sleep fine at night, but was waking super early. I also bring her to run in the playground pretty much every afternoon to get enough energy out.
How are his naps? Could he need more time between nap and bed?

He is napping from 1-4 most days. We have been talking about shortening his naps or getting him down earlier. We'll try it!

@Alba4: not going to lie- it killed me to wake her up from naps! Maybe try waking at 3 for several days and see how it goes?

My son was a chronic early-riser for a loooooong time. He is now 29 months and just starting to sleep in a bit later (as in, 6:30 am, ha.) For a long time, he was always up between 5-6am and it was brutal. There wasn't a ton I could do but I did always stop naps by 4pm and then push bedtime back from 7:30pm to 8pm. I think that plus maturation has helped him start to sleep a little later. But I'm sorry, getting up that early every single day wears on you!
