I actually built up quite a stash with the hope that we can eventually drop nursing sessions and he can take bottles more often so DH can help. Maybe one or two a day in the next few months after he is eating solids. Plus he takes bottles at the gym or when my mom babysits and this way I know the milk is already in th freezer and I'm not scrambling to pump that morning.

I was pumping twice a day, once in the morning before he woke up and once after he went to bed. I have enough in the freezer that I am going to drop the evening session now and pump once a day.

Also, I do pump when he takes a bottle to keep up my supply and I put that in the freezer to replace whatever bottles he takes.

I have an emergency stash only, maybe 50oz. I pump 3-4 oz at night after LO goes to bed. She's almost eight months and has only had two bottles. I hate cleaning bottles.

@Ree723: L's sleep and eating is the same. Makes life with an infant easy. They really must have been separated at birth.

I pumped once a day for the first few weeks/first month or two. After that, it was very sporadic...I also rarely gave bottles because I was never away from him for long. He started hating bottles around 3 months, and only started tolerating them around 8 months, so in between I just scheduled outings around his feedings.

I now pump nightly because he gets a bottle of pumped milk after our bedtime nursing session. I hate pumping and I hate cleaning bottles--I wouldn't pump at all if I didn't need to.

Pumping is a PITA and LO has never taken issue with a bottle. In the beginning I pumped after he nursed first thing in the morning and built up a little stash and since then have just pumped if he got a bottle. I have probably.. I don't know 30 oz in the freezer for an emergency. He eats solids now so it wouldn't be as much of a panic if I had to be gone for a day or something. I probably ought to pump and give him a bottle this weekend... I need to pay attention to how old some of the milk I have is and cycle it!
