My baby girl is 13 months. We’re thinking about trying for a third. I had EWCM last weekend (first time since I got pregnant in 2017), so we had sex. However, I’m still breastfeeding and haven’t had a period yet. So, I’m not sure if it was an actual ovulation or not. Anyone get pregnant before return of AF postpartum?

I didn’t get pregnant before af returned, but I know for me ewcm isn’t a good determiner of my ovulation. Because I get it randomly on and off for days and days sometimes. The only way I can tell is by using opks. That’s just me though! Could be a good way for you though.

@Petitduck: EWCM has always been a really good indicator for me. Temping never worked well for me because I get up a lot at night. If we really start trying, I’ll probably get a fertility monitor

You can ovulate before you get your period, but also you can have random patches of fertile CM before ROF. Test 2 weeks after unprotected sex + EWCM is the only way to know I guess.

I breastfed both my son and daughter and had patches of EWCM for many months before my cycle finally returned each time. I even had positive opks (but barely positive not my typical blazing positives) with some of those EWCM patches, but no ovulation. I never actually ovulated until I completely weaned each time, but that's just me - plenty of women ovulate while breastfeeding and I've definitely heard of women getting pregnant without ever having a postpartum AF. I got pregnant before my period came back. I ovulated around 3mpp and poof, here's baby #2. Lol. You ovulate before your period every time so you may not have a period
