What are some finger foods for your baby to feed themselves? LO mainly eats purees but I am giving her finger foods too. everyone is pushing me to give her cheerios and puffs but I dont really see the benefit of those, so I'm looking for other healthy alternatives. so far she has mainly had small pieces of wheat bread and bagels. Also fruit pieces too.

DS is a bit older (13 months) but he loves ravioli. I used to cut them up. Peas. Banana slices. Avocado slices. Black beans. Eggs. Pasta. You can cook baby carrots and green beans until they're soft. Sweet potato pieces.

Some of C's favorites:
tofu
crackers and hummus (she LOVES hummus, she licks it off the crackers)
cheese
cucumbers
whole wheat cheerios or goldfish
clementines
berries (blueberries are C's favorite)
cheesy eggs
chicken -
Banana. Zucchini. Squash. Mango. Sweet potatoes DD is 9 months

We break off small pieces of string cheese and my LO does great with those. We also like the yogurt melts that are shaped like nonpareils.

We do mild cheddar cheese, sweet potato, broccoli, chicken, sausage, fried egg sliced,and more. She basically eats almost everything we eat in small pieces.

LO is 7 months and loves finger foods like:
Puffs
Yogurt melts
cheese
Steamed veggies (peas, spring beans cut up, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet peppers, etc)
Pasta with pasta sauce on it (one of her favorite foods)
Bread of all kinds
Avocado
Fruit
Beans (whole, cooked soft – chickpeas, kidney beans, etc)
Soft cooked potatoes
Little pieces of soft meats like chicken, homemade meatballsShe also *loves* eating pickle spears!!

We used puffs and cheerios for practice because they're easy to pick up and melt in baby's mouth (in case they don't gnaw or chew), so less of a choking risk. Once he mastered those, we did bits of white meat chicken, chunks of boiled sweet potatoes, banana (that's tough to pick up), bits of whole wheat bread, pieces of steamed green beans (cooked until almost mushy), bits of cheese, scrambled eggs, pasta, and yogurt melts.
