And all's right with the world! We are slowly transitioning to daycare until I go back to teaching in August and DS spent 5 hours there today. The daycare provider said he did a great job and was very jovial (unfortunately only napped 30 minutes). And I didn't collapse in a puddle of tears. Instead I went to the movies. A good day for all!

Congratulations! I was so relieved when I realized M could be happy at her babysitter's and we would all survive me going back to work. Good for you for going to the movies while he was at daycare! That must have been such a nice feeling.

I remember my "trial" daycare day. My son did great, I cried for 20 minutes in the Starbucks parking lot and then went home to take a nap. When you start school in August do you have workdays before students come? Those were great for us too, because I went to visit him on our longer lunch breaks and got to practice my pumping routine.

@mewtill: Yes, we have a full week before students arrive. Good point, I can practice my pumping routine, hadn't thought of that!

@mrsf: It was a great feeling to go to the movies by myself, made even greater knowing I'd get to pick up DS afterwards! I'm glad M is happy at her babysitter's. It makes such a difference.

Awesome! LO isn't in daycare yet, but I know that someday I will have to send her off and I'm pretty sure I will be a hot mess when that day comes. Good for you for going to a movie too!
