I submit to you my wonderful 6-year-old. She asked if she could do her own bedtime tonight after reading, and she had lights out and was asleep EARLY. She is awesome. Just awesome.

She didn't sleep through the night until almost age 5! But since about age 5 she has been a sleep star. Falls asleep on her own, doesn't get up in the night... it's worth the wait.

My 5 yr old is also a wonderful sleeper now (but only 6 mo ago she still needed someone next to her to fall asleep). Now the only thing that wakes her is her 2 yr old brother's crying (from downstairs)... So I guess I'll have to wait ... 3 more years before I'm completely home free!
