The days immediately after my repeat csection, I felt great. I hadn't labored like I did with the first, so I wasn't sore, tired, etc. I knew what to expect and got up and moving quicker which I think helped. About 6 days after surgery, I began experiencing sharp pains in my lower right abdomen, that went down my leg, and left me unable to walk at times. It literally felt like I was going to tear apart on the inside. After seeing my OB, he said that he's never seen anyone in that much pain and that it was due to a tight stitch(he had to use a different/tighter anchor stitch due to weak uterine tissue, otherwise I ran the risk of an incisional hernia). After about 3 days the pain was gone and I've been fine since.
I had help the 2 weeks following the csection, so I didn't have to carry around my toddler until about 2 1/2 weeks pp. it was hard, especially since my son was only 15 months at the time. We managed though.

DH took 5 weeks off and handled most of the toddler care. I felt ok by 3 weeks.

I'm currently wondering how this will work.... LO will be 18 months when baby #2 arrives and she is a mama's girl who constantly wants UP! I'm trying to work on it with her to prepare her as much as possible, but I know she doesn't understand it quite yet. Luckily we have a lot of helping hands around so I know I will have help, but I hate the thought of not being able to pick her up!
