So, C will be 11 months in a week. We were given the go-ahead to start cutting her formula bottles with whole milk to start the transition at 11 months. I've been researching it, but I'm still fuzzy... and frankly a little scared/intimidated, to start the weaning process.
How did you wean your LO? When did you start?

At 12 months we went cold turkey. We just switched from bottles to cows milk in a sippy. The first day she didn't drink that much, just a few sips at each meal and I figured I'd give her another day before going back to a slower transition. The second day she gulped down all of her milk and has every day since.

We waited until 12 months and cut his formula in half. After a week or so we stopped the formula altogether. I did keep his night time bottle half formula for another month or so just to keep up our routine and to use up the rest of the formula we had.
It really was not as big a deal as I thought it was. DS didn't care, it was just me who was worked up about it.

At 10 months, wse started offering DS milk in a sippy at mealtimes. He's 11 months today and is jjust starting to drink a couple ounces a day of milk. After he turns one, I'll start limiting his formula bottles so he'll drink more milk during the day. Hopefully, this will also wean him off bottles at the same time and he'll be completely transitioned by 13 months. This is the approach we used with DD, and it went really smoothly!

We were mostly "cold turkey". We had to slightly warm her milk for about a week and she did still get some in a bottle. Within 10 days we were rid of the bottle and warming. Just a sippy and cows milk.
We never mixed formula and milk.

I am so scared about this. Like I am losing sleep over it. He really really likes his bottle and would be happy not eating real food and just having his formula. We only have 2 more months until he's one. I'll be subscribing to this thread.

We introduced organic whole cow's milk when DS turned 1. But, he ended up getting constipated, so we had to go back to formula again. It took a few weeks, but his constipation finally resolved. Now he's on whole milk all the time.
