I just called and got my CD3 lab results. The nurse said the doctor just said "OK", but I asked her what the numbers were so that I could look them up on Dr. Google. Well, now I'm freaking out.
Here are my numbers, everything seems ok except my FSH. I have a call back to my doctor to ask, but anyone have any thoughts while I'm waiting to hear back?
E2: 41.87
FSH: 16.8
LH: 6.0
TSH: 1.89

@LAZB: you're right that your FSH is a little elevated, but that doesn't necessarily mean too much on its own. Did you have an ultrasound to measure your Antral Follicle Count? The other thing they should check if they haven't already is AMH (another hormone). Some REs say that's a better indicator of DOR. And remember, Dr. Google didn't go to medical school

Are you working with an RE or OB? I think it would be a good idea to do an antral follicle count on CD2-3 to get a sense of what your ovarian reserve actually is. And just checking, you're 100% sure it was CD3?

@Shutterbug: Good point, Dr. Google seems so smart though! I've never heard of AMH, I will ask my doctor about testing for it.
@spaniellove: I'm just with an OB now, but maybe I should see an RE! I'm 100% it was CD3, although I had a very weird cycle last month and spotted from CD2-10 at which point I started my period. -
@LAZB: not to scare you but my OB thought my cd3 b/w results were normal for 14m
when I left and went to a RE, he told they were def not normal. That being said: I have zero experience with fsh #s so I can't speak on yours.

@LAZB: The extended spotting makes me suspicious that there's a chance it wasn't a true CD3, or something wasn't in sync. If you test FSH on any day other than CD2-3, it will be higher. (I have DOR!) So what I would do is go through a normal cycle, then do another set of CD3 b/w and antral follicle count testing before assuming that you have DOR. You could also request AMH testing although there's generally less an RE can do with that because FSH is more reflective of your current status.
ETA: Also, if your FSH comes back in the 10+ range again or your OB can't do the antral follicle count you may want to see an RE.

@spaniellove: I'm hoping that my crazy cycle threw off my numbers, and not that my levels made me have a crazy cycle. Does antral follical count testing need to happen a certain CD?

@LAZB: Yes, I think your AFC has to be done CD3 also. FWIW, my FSH was 17 the cycle I got pregnant with this baby so whatever happens it's not impossible!

@spaniellove: OK, I'll keep that in mind for next month if I don't get pregnant this month. And good to know that you can get pregnant with a high FSH, that gives me hope.

Finally heard back from my doctor's office, and the nurse stills says my doctor isn't concerned. I asked about my FSH last month, and it was a 9, so that's a pretty big difference. I'm hoping this month's number was just a fluke.
I did go ahead and make an appointment with an RE for later this month just in case. Especially if I start spotting right after O like I have the last two months, I'd like to see what's going on. -
@LAZB: I'm going to guess something was off about your cycle because it's usually a little more consistent than that. But if you are in the 9-10 range an RE may be able to do more targeted testing and treatment than an OB. Good luck!

@LAZB: I totally agree with @spaniellove: that your FSH shouldn't fluctuate so much after a month, so I bet this one was a fluke!
I would have it tested again next month when you are sure it is Day 3 and see how it compares to your number last month. 9 isn't bad at all. That's about what mine has been over the last few years. (hasn't changed much) Good luck! I also recommend an RE over an OB depending on how long you've been trying since they can do more to help get you pregnant. -

I will admit I've been a little (ok, maybe a lot) crazy this time ttc. After my baby passed away from a fluke virus, I'm now a little paranoid about what else can go wrong. It took me a year to get pregnant the first time, and even though we've only been trying three months this time (I know I'm nuts), I have stage iv endometriosis and a short luteal phase, so I will head to an RE sooner than most.

I don't think you're crazy! Given your history (and that you have a diagnosis) I think you should be able to skip straight to an RE.

@LAZB: you are NOT crazy. You are amazingly strong and completely entitled to feeling this way. You have been through one of the most traumatic things anyone can experience, I will be praying for you to be pregnant ASAP! I conceived my son first try after having a test that showed I have low AMH so even with such tests there is always hope. Hugs

I don't think you're crazy! Given your history (and that you have a diagnosis) I think you should be able to skip straight to an RE.
