Any wisdom here would be helpful!
LO is EBF and is 2 months old. She has always eaten like a champ and gained weight well (she just topped 15 lbs!) but recently has started freaking out during feedings...but only sometimes and I can't find a pattern. She will eat for a little while, then pop off happily and scream when I put her back on...so she'll pop off, then get back on again, then scream, then try it again, then scream. Eventually she has been eating but it's an exhausting process and I can't BF away from home b/c it has become a long, loud, messy process. It doesn't make a difference which boob it is. It doesn't matter if I'm engorged or fairly empty. She has no problem latching, she just won't drink sometimes! And I don't force her on or anything, I just hold her up by the boob and she turns her head and latches. I don't think it's thrush b/c there aren't white patches in her mouth and my nipples donts hurt, except for when she yanks on them. She's not fussy after meal time so I don't think it's her tummy. And again, she only does this sometimes! What can I do or try?
I have googled everything I can think of. We have a doc appt Monday and I figured I'd ask them then. Maybe I will see an LC after that, but if we go and she feeds normally then I'm afraid I will be out the $$ and not make any progress. WAAAH!
