My 10 year old niece and nephew and 7 year old nephew's birthdays are coming up.
I've asked them for a wish list but meanwhile any suggestions?
We usually do one educational gift and one anything they want. Trying to stay within $75 total for each kid since Christmas is one month after!
My niece is really into reading so I might get her a classic boxed set. The boys are into building stuff.

@mediagirl: Omg. I just cried a little inside that they're old enough for iTunes gc. That's not a bad idea because they have their own iPad mini but aren't allow to buy apps. I know. My 2nd brother bought it for their birthdays last year.

Legos? My 11 year old still loves them (especially the DC Comics editions).
As far as books, he liked the Percy Jackson series and is enjoying A Series of Unfortunate Events books right now.

@shinymama: they have SO many Legos ET Al. Their basement is a literal Lego explosion. I try to only buy 3D building sets now to challenge the older one. He is really good at building stuff. Budding architect like his aunt!

@locavore_mama: Tell me about it. My son has massive bins filled with pieces, and he still asks for more. I've seen a series with famous structures {Empire State Building, etc.} in-store. Two birds with one stone?
