What about a craft-y gift?

I like lacing cards for 2 year olds (something like this http://www.amazon.com/Eric-Carle-Animal-Lacing-Cards/dp/0811860019/ref=pd_sim_b_1).
They're small enough to not add to an often-already-cluttered house, it's something that they can't really do before age 2, it's good for their fine motor development, and it's a good thing to bring to places like restaurants or church where you want them to sit relatively quietly.
