Hi bees. Our 5 week old is currently about 2/3 bottle fed with breast milk, and 1/3 supplemented with formula (while I am actively working to increase my supply). In "The Baby Book" by Dr. Sears, he mentions that formula fed babies should have up to 4 oz of water each day.
Today, we gave her an ounce of water between feedings. She seemed okay with it. We aren't doing it as a replacement, just doing it to ensure she's hydrated.
Did any of you give water in the early days? If anything, the book says it can help with hydration, and regulating their poopy diapers.
