Would it be weird if I went to LLL alone, without my 8-week old newborn? I'd love to talk and meet other moms, but it's less stressful for me to leave her with her grandmother, who lives with us. I don't want to be the only one there that's not nursing. Just thinking about the hassle of loading up the car, diaper bag, etc., and how much easier it would be to get away by myself for a minute.

I don't think anyone would mind if you went solo but I always found that lll was a great place for outings because everybody understands life with a newborn!

I went to one pregnant without a baby and they were very welcoming!

There were moms solo at mine somewhat regularly, but I'll echo above that I found it to be a great place to practice going out (and nursing) in public with LO.

I don't think it would be weird, but you might benefit from being able to nurse there and have other members check your baby's latch if you have concerns about it.

I think it would be fine! I also attended a meeting alone when I was still pregnant. My experience with LLL meetings is that everyone is super friendly and welcoming. There were definitely times I went to meetings with my LO and he didn't nurse while there, so its not like every mom is nursing the entire time or anything

Why don't you take your mom? Then if you want to pass off your baby to her for awhile, she can go outside or to the lobby or whatever.
