We are relocating to the south where open carry is legal pretty much anywhere. My husband toured the preschool where we are planning to send my son this morning and saw a dad, with a handgun tucked into the waistband of his pants, dropping off his child. Whaaaaaaaaat?!?!?!?!? Seriously! Any gun, especially an unsecured gun, around a bunch of toddlers! In my mind that is just so unsafe I can't even wrap my head around it. Bees from the south, is this normal?

I am a lifelong northerner and feeling totally freaked out by this. Apparently it is legal for parents to carry guns into schools for drop off and pick up in Georgia. My husband spoke at length with the director about his concerns and she is planning to speak with other parents. I also plan to call some other preschools in the area to find out what their policies are. What else can/should I do?

FWIW We LOVE everything else about the school and didn't even think to ask about this since it is 100% not an issue ever where we live now.
