We have plans to move sometime in the next year so in that plan we are going to have to move our daughter to a new daycare center (again). The one we are moving her to is near my work so she *could* go there any time. Only problem is they have a giant wait list and we can't get her in until next year (when she is 4). Any tips for the transition at age 4 to a new center?

We moved DS at 3.5 - his sister was starting DCP soon and this place was cheaper and they after an after-school program for K - so it was the right move.
I was terrified. I didn't think it would go well since he doesn't do well with change but surprisingly he did great!!
I did bring him by 2 times to check it out and see the toys and meet his teacher. I have to give HUGE kudos to his teacher though - I think she made the transition smooth for him -he loved her!

@Mamaof2: we will definitely take her there and let her see the place before she goes for good. I hate that it's a change for just a year but it's just something we have to do to help our transition with moving.

We just transitioned, our kids were almost 3 and 5 years old at the time, and they both did great! The 5 year old was a little sad to be leaving his old friends but the new center is wonderful and they both love it. I was really anxious for our first day there but they both were 100% fine. No tears at dropoff and happy at the end of the day too.

We will be next month. She turns 4 and the following week will be starting a full time pre-K program at our public school including after school care. So she will leave her daycare completely and be at the public school from 7:30 - 6:00. I'm incredibly nervous.
