We are also talking to friends because she starts K next year. Her PreK is through the daycare so she will switch schools.

We have a great "A" rated elementary school we are zoned for that has a large amount of community involvement. I have started talk to friends and my SIL about the K teachers and who to request. Also about schedules for pick up/drop off/after school care. They have an open house in the spring.

We are also considering a charter school that does project based learning but I only know a few colleagues that send their kids there. We are on the list for the lottery so once we know if she even gets in, we will talk to them to try to find out more to make our decision.

I've talked to a lot of parents about our schools but we will almost definitely move before she goes to kindergarten, so there's not much I can do for now. I've started generally looking into what burbs have good schools since that's probably where we will end up.
