I feel slightly conflicted about my choice today but I am glad we have a choice at this point.
When we walked into daycare this morning, we found out that today was pajama day (by half the kids in the class wearing jammies and the other half not wearing them). And it was movie day. Apparently the kids were told they were going to watch Polar Express today and they should wear their jammies. No info came home to parents. I guess the parents who did know were told directly by the teacher? I don't know because we get there before either teacher does (the morning teacher starts at 8:15 but is never there at 8:15).
Anyways, my kid hasn't watched Polar Express and I am not comfortable with her watching it (she's sensitive to movies / TV, so I like to screen them first). So, I sent my husband up to get her and take her for a fun daddy/daughter day. Sure, some will think I'm over reacting but I think I'm doing what's best for my kid. She was so upset when we got to school and some kids were wearing jammies and she wasn't.
Have you ever kept your kid from participating in a school activity?
