Do you have back up care lined up if something happens to your usually child care provider?
I think Bright Horizons is a daycare that allows kids to drop in or they can provide in-home care.

Nope - my kids would freak the $&%*% out if I dropped them off somewhere like that.
I just stay home

We don't have any right now but we just found out that MIL will be retiring next year and she has volunteered to be a back-up care person for us. I am really excited about that.

Same as @Mamaof2. My kids (especially Xander) would have a meltdown if we dropped him off somewhere strange! Hubs and I take turns staying home if necessary. But they are both in a daycare center, so them being closed is pretty rare, besides holidays.

We use my husband's back-up care days provided through his job. He gets 20 days a year. I've actually been using it for LO 1 the whole time I've been on maternity leave. She loves it there and doesn't seem phased that she only goes occasionally. The teachers keep asking me to enroll her full time because they love having her there, but frankly we can't afford it with 2! Tuition is like 2300/kid a month.
But I really like that they take pictures of your kid's activities all day and you get them at the end of the day, along with a description of the activity.
My husband's job unfortunately doesn't do the in-home option, so I don't know how that works.

Haha, my son wouldn't even set foot in a drop in place, I tried it and the place had to call me to pick him up after 15 minutes. I got so flamed for bringing this up in another thread, lol.
I often wonder if he would have been more accepting if we had tried it from when he was very little.

@Mamaof2: yeah, same here. We like consistency so we would just stay home until we found something new. I don't even like the idea of sending her to the childcare at our church (all the parents send their little kids to the childcare....and this is why we don't go to church).
