I've always loved the idea of a floor bed but never ended up doing one with DD1. I'm thinking of doing one with DD2 but am not sure if being eye level with toys is a good idea. Did you do a floor bed with one kid but not the other? Why?

We are planning to flip LO's IKEA bunk bed when she's 4.5 (when LO2 turns 1). It's the bed that is a low bed one way and a bunk the other way. So, LO2 will be the only one with a floor bed. We don't have toys in the room, but I worry about access to cords and the dresser (even with it bolted to the wall).

@littlejoy: thankfully she doesn't have any big furniture but there are a few cords. But I suppose even in a regular bed they could still get up and mess with those things

@Mrs. Sunshine: Exactly. I loved the idea of a floor bed for LO1, but didn't know about them until we had already purchased a crib. I'm excited to try it with LO2 ... we have a Nest Cam now, so it'll be easier to keep an eye on everything.
