DS generally does quite well at bedtime - we put him down drowsy but awake after a consistent bedtime routine and he falls asleep on his own most nights. However, he wakes up in the middle of the night between 2 and 5 times. He screams and is totally inconsolable. When we finally can get him to settle down either with rocking or nursing, he starts screaming again the instant we put him back in his crib, whether he is awake or asleep when we put him down. Wake ups which used to take 10 minutes now take 30 min-1 hour and we often just give up and bring him to our bed. (Which I know is making the problem worse...)
He is 5 months old. We haven't done any sleep training except for establishing a good bedtime routine. Naps are also a disaster. This has been going on for 6+ weeks and getting worse. He has been to the doctor multiple times - no ear infection, no cold, may be teething but tylenol doesn't help...
Is sleep training the answer? If you successfully sleep trained - particularly for MOTN - what method did you use?
So sleep deprived hope this makes sense. Thank you in advance for any advice!
