Short post bc I'm posting on my iPad from the hospital and I suck at typing on this thing!

I had my daughter Tuesday via c section after failed induction at 41+2 and we are having some trouble breast feeding.

The consensus among nurses and the lc is she just has a very tiny mouth and doesn't seem able to open her mouth wide enough to get enough of my breast in her mouth to feed very effectively (or avoid serious pain for me). They think once my milk comes in she also might be more inclined to try harder to get more in there. They don't seem to have any good suggestions except to keep trying. I asked to try a nipple shield but even the xs size was too big for her mouth.

Any suggestions? I have one more appt with lc tomorrow am before we are discharged. Wanted to see if anyone had suggestions or questions I could ask tomorrow.

Right now we are stuck in a cycle of failed bf attempts followed by pumping and feeding via syringe and then supplementing (bc she is jaundiced and wasn't making enough wet diapers). I can't wait until my milk comes in and we work out our latch is I can hopefully just bf!!
