Our neighbors are going to send their DD to LO1's preschool starting at the end of this week. The little girl is almost 4, like mine, and incredibly shy. Our LO's play together a few times a week in the neighborhood. The neighbors say their DD talks all the time at home but their LO has never said a word to my daughter. I've only heard her say a couple words to my toddler.

My DD is kind of neutral about the girl since she doesn't talk to her. Preschool teachers picked up on how shy this girl is and already said they'd be counting on DD to be a good friend.

I've prepped DD to be a good friend when the neighbor starts. Introduce her to other kids and play with her while she gets comfortable. Is there anything else I can do? Would it be awkward to bring a special welcome snack?
