Does anyone's LO attend a Reggio-inspired preschool? Do you like it? Why did you choose it?

We looked at one. We really liked it, but ultimately liked Montessori a little better.

We are looking at what I think is a Reggio inspired preschool, and I really like it! It's at the top of my list for LO.

We were looking at one, but we are moving so we aren't putting DD in, and LOVED it! I liked that it felt like a Waldorf and Montessori schools mated and made a new school. I enjoyed that it was still play based (like Waldorf), but a little more traditionally academic (like Montessori). I liked that it was small (only one PK4 class) and DD wouldn't get lost at all. I did kind of like that they separated the ages (the don't do that at the Montessori school we looked at),

We looked at one Reggio-inspired one and 2 Montessori ones, mostly because those were the best liked ones in our area. We ended up going with one of the Montessori ones mostly due to convenience of the location and overall vibe of the school & teachers. Also, at the Reggio one, K would've been one of the older kids in her classroom for most of the year, and she has done better when she has older kids to learn from. I would probably prefer a more play-based curriculum at this age (2.5), but she is only going 3 days a week, so I figure she does a lot of playing the rest of the week.

My daughter is in a montessori preschool, but I'm hoping to place her in a Reggio charter school for kindergarten. Reggio is awesome!

Hmm, very curious about which one you're looking at. There is one very near me that is very popular. Long story short, we didn't apply there but my DD did a summer camp there and it was awesome. If she weren't already settled in a preschool I would totally consider it.

@BandDmommy: Ah. It's the Beverley Hills Church Preschool, in Alexandria. I thought you were in NOVA but I wasn't sure where!

One of my clients/the school our LO will be going to is Reggio-inspired. I really love the Reggio method and I've seen so much progress with other's children since they opened almost two years ago. We're really involved with the teachers (I do most of their internal and external marketing/brand management) so it's been great seeing first hand how the Reggio method has helped the staff evolve into new ways of thinking. The documentation process alone had me sold!

I read up on it while studying about slow parenting. I did some research and sadly there is nothing close enough to me. Portland is just too far away
