1) What is the highest level of education you've completed?
2) Your SO?
3) Will you push your LO's to go at least that far?
I have a MA, and hubs has his BA. I imagine once LO is in high school, she'll pretty much have to go to college, so hopefully she'll go for a Masters, but even a BA would be fine with me.

We both have MBAs. DH threatens to get an MD every so often and it freaks me out.
I'd like our kids to get whatever education they need to excel in their careers, but I'm not going to force anything.

I have a BA, an MA, and an EdM. Dh has his BA. I want LO to at least get a BA/BS. Anything else is up to him.

DH and I both have masters degrees but it's not something we would push on the kids, I don't think... Undergrad college degree I think would be enough.

I have a BA, I started but didn't finish law school and I have a number of career related certificates (taken through a brick and mortar graduate school).
My husband has his PhD.
We definitely expect at least a BA out of LO; but hope she continues on beyond that.

We both have master's degrees. I want to find that perfect balance of supporting our future kids in achievement but not pressuring them. A bachelors seems reasonable, but who knows what the economy will be like in 20-25 years...

I have my Masters plus 81 extra credits. DH has his BS. I wish he would show interest in getting a Masters but he doesn't really need it in his line of work.

I have a BA and he has a BS; not sure if I'd push a child to go to college if they don't want to go- as @ChitownRo says, who knows what the economy and jobs will look like in 18-22 yrs.

I have an MD and MPH. Hubs has a BS. He may get a masters someday. I'm neutral to whether he does that.

@swedishfish: Okay. That makes more sense. I taught for a year, and would eventually like to go back, and I know that continuing ed and new certifications are a part of that.

DH and I both have a JD. I would like our LOs to get at least a BS/BA and would prefer they go into some sort of graduate program--doesn't have to be law.

I have a BA, an MS and am in my 2nd year of a doctoral program (EdD). DH has a BA and am MBA. I definitely hope our children get Master's degrees (bachelors are non-negotiable) and I would love it if any get doctorates as well (in true Jewish-mother form, I'd looooooove an MD!)

Dh and I both have our masters. I r eally dont care if lo gets her masters. Just depends what she wants to do in life.

I am one semester away from my BA and DH has his BA. I will be continuing my education into a Masters and beyond (as a teacher, I don't really have a choice!) and DH toys with the idea of a Masters but doesn't need it for his career.
We will not push any degree of education (beyond high school) on our child. Obviously, we will encourage a college education and support our child if he/she chooses to go that route, but we won't make it "mandatory."

We both have a masters in engineering. Future LO will definitely be pushed to go that far. My grandparents and parents pushed me, I'm certain they'll push LO too.

we both have BAs. i have no interest in further formal education, although i am definitely a lifetime learner and will probably take other classes that i'm interested in later in life. we definitely want our kids to get complete undergrad college, but i think more is only necessary if they want to specialize. and i think specializing early is a good thing!

I have a bachelor's and the hubby didn't finish college. Even though the hubby didn't finish college, he's doing great career wise, and is actually way more advanced in life than his friends are!!
I would want our LO to at least get a bachelors.

We both started our undergrad but never finished. Lured away by the workforce and money to be made. While I sometimes wish we had finished, I'm at peace with it now. I'll support LO in whatever she chooses for her future.

I have a BA and an MFA (Master of Fine Arts). My husband didn't finish college. I want our kids to at least get Bachelors degrees, but my biggest thing is that they have goals and plans (for example, trade school or a certificate program that leads to x career).

I have my associates - finished less than two months before DS was born! I do want to get a 4-year just not sure when that will happen.
DH has his masters in education and teaches at a local business college.
I will encourage DS to go to college - since he's a boy I'd especially push for a BA/BS. If I have a girl, I'd be more inclined to be more okay with just an AA.
Does that sound sexist?!? sorry! I think it's most important that a guy can support his family IMO.

I have a BA, DH is in med school now. I might go back to grad school when I'm ready to work, but now focusing on the babies. We would expect LOs to go to college at the minimum.

We both have BAs. I will encourage LO to at least go that far, if not farther. I often wonder how different our lives/careers would be if either or both of us had a more advanced degree.

@Mrs. Pen: Not sexist, but I do think it's important for the next generation (both sexes) to be able to have enough education to support themselves if things don't work out with their spouse or (heaven forbid) their spouse passes away.
DH has a BS and I have a BA. We hope that LO takes an interest in his education and goes at least that far. The biggest thing is that he finds something that makes him happy and that he loves to do and is able to be successful and live well doing it.

@Boogs: Oh I agree - and that's a main reason I want to finish college as well (although now since being a SAHM I think I want to work anyway). I just think in general I would be harder on my son to get a degree than my daughter.

@Mrs. Pen: Totally understandable. I don't know if more kids are in the cards for us, or even what gender they may be, but I do know that I want to be very careful about not showing any perceived favoritism to my kids. Mr Bee wrote a blog post about how to raise your kids to grow up to be best friends http://www.hellobee.com/2012/09/14/5-ways-to-help-make-sure-your-kids-grow-up-to-be-best-friends/ and that's something that I would worry would hinder that relationship from flourishing.
