@Happygal: Seriously...if you should ever find me a job where you get to travel all around the world for fun please let me know! India was super fun the first time I went but this last time it just was not as fun. I will say - the shopping is phenomenal so I do have that to look forward to!
New day, new attitude. I'm taking the bonus (a skimpy $350 post tax) that I get for flying coach to India (UGH!) and treating DH and I to a new tv for our bedroom for Christmas! I also calculated yesterday that this trip will get me to Platinum status on Delta...looking for the positive in it all!
Planning to pick up some unisom to bring with me along with the ambien (just in case - since I know it works for me). Also, talked to my girlfriend last night who assured me drinking during the TWW is totally A-okay...huge relief since I really need a glass of wine to fly as I am terrified of flying and well getting to India requires 20 hours of it.
AND - AF finally retreated yesterday...so let the BD'ing begin! Woohoo!

@Sugar.Biscuit: I think Spa day's (or half days) are always a great idea!

Looks like I'm joining you guys a bit earlier than expected!
We were originally waiting until next year to TTC (right now using NFP) but are in the 'if it happens, it happens' boat. I chart using FF and it looked like I was having another anovulatory cycle this time around, so a few days before AF was due I gave DH the go-ahead for the *ahem* 'grand finale.' Lo and behold, my body decided it would be a great idea to O at CD 31 (my average is CD19). So here I am, nervous as heck, but cautiously excited about the prospect.
Ovulation Day: 11/23/12
POAS: 12/03/12 (10DPO, FF suggests I wait until the 9th but that's just craziness!)
Trying anything new this cycle: Well, my body thought it would be a fabulous idea to try delayed ovulation, does that count?

@thismustbetheplace: haha, welcome to the club! i am gonna be scared as shit if i end up pregnant soon, but i'd be scared just the same 3 years from now so just taking the blind leap of faith with all this TTC
grapefruit / 4545 posts
@runnerd: this is exactly how I feel...thats why DH and I are basically like well we might as well get this show on the road...

@thismustbetheplace: how exciting!! Agree that it's all totally terrifying, despite being something we want to badly!

@thismustbetheplace: you cracked me up with how you told your story in your post! I like the term grand finale LOL!

I'll join in!
TTC Cycle: 2, well, one NTNP, and first official TTC cycle, still nursing my almost one year old daughter!
Ovulation Day: Three days of +OPKs and temp spike later puts O-Day at November 26
POAS: I like to pretend that I can make it until I'm late, but I'm an early tester for sure. My birthday is December 9th, so let's go with that, but sticks will be peed on before that, I'm certain.
Trying anything new this cycle: Actually trying and having fun! My cycles are still long from nursing, and if there is a next cycle husband-man and I have agreed to keep him more out of the loop than this cycle. The timing pressure was a bit much for him.
Good luck to everyone!

@thismustbetheplace: I honestly believe that there's never a "good time" to have a baby. It's like saying there's a good time to have total upheaval in your life. Not so much. Believe me when I say it's so, so worth it.

@runnerd: now that we've actually got to this point, I'm actually a bit nervous mixed in with mainly excited. I don't think you're ever fully prepared!
pomelo / 5132 posts
@runnerd @mrs D @sweetmamam: totally with you! We are such a mix of excited and nervous with a "we'll see what happens". We too were originally going to wait until next year, but our we kept making our wait time shorter and shorter!
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@Mrs. J @mrs D @sweetmamam: yea, I was still telling the hubs 2 more years this summer - he's been the ready one! My last birthday pushed me over the edge though! Not getting any younger. And all my worries about "freedom"? Yea I could go to a wine bar or concert any night of the week now, but in reality, I'm spending countless hours in pj's on the couch watching the voice
grapefruit / 4545 posts
@runnerd: haha totally watched the Voice last night, in PJ's on my couch with a glass of wine...
Our turning point was going to visit our friends who had their first in June. We have other friends and siblings with babies but most of the couples have a woman who is one of those "meant to be a mom" women - which I appreciate and wish I was but the reality is I am just not a born mom. We were out there in July (LO was 6 weeks old) and it was so good for DH and I to see that life can still be normal. They are lucky and their DD is such a good baby. But DH was just so shocked to see the Mom with the baby bundled up to her cooking in the kitchen, sipping wine and just generally being normal with a 6 week old attached to her. Not to mention, his friend had fallen into fatherhood very well so it was very eye opening and good for us...thats when we decided on January to start...then it was just well hell lets start the BD'ing and get this show on he road.
Anyone else think seeing others made you realize it was scary but doable?

@Mrs D: yes!!!! this is how i was/am! i am not the girl born to be a mother like some so i struggled with where i fit into the motherhood club, but after lots of thought and really just waiting until i am ready, it's so exciting to actually want a baby and the responsibilities, rather than to be fearful. i have more examples of what i don't want motherhood to be for me, but also a handful of my own mommy role models! also i love the marriage and family posts on practical wedding, like these: http://apracticalwedding.com/2012/10/mixed-messages-about-parenting-and-motherhood-ambivalence/

@Ash: I feel like all I do is wait now - TWW for the go days, the. TWW for POAS.
cherry / 141 posts
@Runnerd @Ash @Chillybear I have a theory that Wednesday is the worst day of the TWW regardless of your POAS day. Wednesday's always seem to drag on for me, and I don't have the weekend in sight to distract me!

I'm back for December.
TTC Cycle: 7th
Ovulation Day: I got a positive opk on Black Friday (11/23) so I'm guessing I o'ed on the 24th or 25th,
POAS: One app says AF is due the 5th, another the 8th. I'll probably try to wait till the 8th to see if she rears her ugly head.
I'm feeling really down these days, which has to do with a lot of things, this being cycle 7 TTC being one of them. I know I should be positive, but I'm just not feeling it.
Best of luck to all the rest of you ladies though.

@runnerd: interesting articles, my best friend took her 7 month old to the macy's pardade in NYC. She loved it! I showed my mom pictures and she was shocked saying "when you were that little we never did things like that.... I was too afraid"
i think 20-30 years ago life did stop or slow down for a lot of parents where as today more new parents have the mind set of we're gonna do what we're gonna do and the kid is gonna be part of the action

@MrsCastro: Last night, I had a dream that I had a baby girl, but we hadn't gotten anything ready for her yet. In my dream, I was with my mom at Babies R Us buying a car seat, Pack n play, etc.
When I got my first BFP, I finally took the test b/c I had a dream that I was pregnant. I was right that time. Maybe I will be this time too
