Holiday weeks at my daughter's daycare are so sad. There are fewer kids there and unfortunately most of her closest friends don't come when it is a holiday week. So, I dropped her off today. She sat down at a table, held her baby and put her head down on her arms. What a way to make mommy feel awesome. 
How are holiday weeks at your childcare? Is your child going or are you off so you get to stay home with them?

They go today and tomorrow but our daycare closes from 12-23 to 1-5 - not sure how we'll handle 1-4 and 1-5 yet

Ours is closed all week. The following week is a week with fewer kids but it's never seemed to phase him. He's usually the first one there anyway though.

Ours is open Monday-Wednesday. I'm not sure how busy or not it will be, but they have some fun events planned, like Santa visiting on Tuesday, and doing some Polar Express thing on Wednesday, so I think they'll have fun, regardless!

She'll be there Monday-Wednesday this week because DH and I are both working. Daycare is open for part of the day on Christmas Eve but she'll be home with us. We're both off all of next week so she'll be home with us then, too. I'm guessing there won't be many kids there this week or next. I feel bad sending her during holiday weeks, too!

There are only 2.5 days this week and then they are off until January 11th. I assume there will be fewer kids than normal this week. Since I'm self-employed, I'm more or less off the whole time they are out of school. I may try to work a little bit, but I don't usually get much done when they are home.

Ours is open M-W for the next two weeks. Unless she gets sick, she'll be there. I'll be working about half those days and hopefully relaxing on the other days.

He's going this week and part of next week. His best daycare friend has a new baby brother (like, 6 days old new) so I'm pretty confident that he'll also be there, which hopefully will be enough to keep B happy.

Dh teaches so he's home with dd these two weeks. Our daycare is technically open, but you have to pay extra to attend over the holidays, so I imagine it must be pretty empty.

All of our closest friends stay in town so even though there are fewer kids, LO's BFFs are there. She'll go M-W this week then be home. Next week my in laws are in town (and I'm home on mat leave) so we'll probably do short days, like just send her until nap time.

It's definitely a bit more quiet, but there's still a good amount of kiddos around to play with. A lot of parents still have to work. The day before or day after a holiday is usually super quiet, but DS is usually home with us.

DH and I are off this week but we are sending her Mon-Wed. She has a small class anyway but there will only be 3 kids but we have doctors appointments, errands, and having a couple day dates. I don't feel bad at all. There are still plenty of kids there.

Ours is open all week, closing at 1pm on Christmas Eve. Then they're closed all next week, so we have various grandparents coming over to watch him. They have a sign-up list on the door to see who would be there this week (probably for staffing), and it seemed like only a few kids would be missing. Their classroom Christmas party is on Wednesday, and it looked like most parents are bringing their kids in that day, even if they're off the rest of the week.

I don't know about yours, but we still pay full price whether he's there or not. So even though DH and I have this week off, he's still going sometimes (just not everyday, or not for a full day). I actually had a work thing just for this morning, so it's nice to have the option. And DH and I talked about taking a date day, since we have the childcare.
There were still a decent number of kids there when I dropped him off.

Our DS only goes 2 days a week so he's going Mon and Wed! They are closed thurs-fri the next 2 weeks.

LOs was the same as it always is. Her school is open until Wednesday. There might be less kids on Wednesday.

@mediagirl: We left early for a trip so we missed the last day (dd is mwf half days, about to start m-f half days) but I just wanted to say there was one day where dd went and it was a minimum day (only until 12) for teacher stuff so I guess a lot of parents just used alternate care that day, and I didn't even think twice about it. Of course dd isn't really attached to any of the kids yet, she's only been there a couple months. But I figured there was more teacher-child interaction for that day so they are getting attention from someone... I'm sure your lo's teachers will keep them pretty happy! And once the day is through and xmas is here it'll be totally forgotten!
