soooo...i'm six months postpartum and every once and a while i bleed bright red blood when i have a bowel movement. i'm seriously so horrified that today i finally looked down there and saw a hemorrhoid! i am scarred for life! i honestly don't think its that big or that bad, but i'm wondering if i should call my ob? my feelings on it are, ok, i'm six months out will they think i'm crazy for calling? b. i'm not in any pain really other than the bleeding but i sure don't want it to get worse. can anything be done at this point other than witch hazel? eeekk....so freaked out. any similar experiences this far out?

I still get them!! I am 6 months PP too, my OB said they never go away, but they flare up at certain times and to do my best with keeping hydrated and make sure I don't get constipated because that makes it worse.

@bao omg i am sooooo horrified. do you bleed? the bleeding is what freaks me out more than anything. so grody! AHHH! I don't want to call my doctors office and make a mountain out of a molehill.

@matador84: yes sometimes! I don't think you really need to call your doc unless you are really uncomfortable, or you are concerned. Sadly, they are very normal after having a baby....and more people probably have them than you think, but not many people probably go out and admit it.

I went to my primary doctor about a month postpartum for bad roids. I had to take a suppository for them. It was a miracle drug and well worth it.

I've never seen it, but I can feel it! I've had it since I gave birth to my DD. IT WON'T GO AWAY!

@chopsuey119 feel it as in when you poop? seriously, sometime s it feels like i'm pooping glass and then other times i'm just fine! was DD your 1 or 2? i don't want it forever!! ahh!!

@matador84: mine hurt and bled. The doc did a rectal exam and checked for blood in the stool. After that, I got a script.

You can try suppositories or preparation h to help shrink it. Also using like a tucks wipe after you go will help. Not as rough

Mine showed up 5 weeks pp and are starting to shrink. I'm 13 w pp now. I have to stay hydrated and still take colace. I'm so scared to poop sometimes! Yes, it hurts and for awhile there was blood. This is the glamorous part of pregnancy that no one talks about!!!

At 17 months PP, I'm still getting new ones. Figuring out what triggers them - food, (for me, goldfish crackers, no joke, stop me up), lack of exercise, too little water, whatever, will really help. Preparation H will help. Realizing that we are still sexy and are not awful and gross will help.

I just started getting them at 26 weeks pregnant. I have been wiping with Tucks pads after using the bathroom and using the Prep H cooling gel. Also have tried to up the fiber/veggies in my diet so as not to make the situation worse.
