You wouldn't expect a question like this from someone who already gave birth... but i never had contractions with my son (was induced)
I'm 38 weeks pregnant ... for those wondering
I know I'm not feeling very comfortable, but I'm not in horrible pain either. I've always told myself contractions would be hell, so I'm kinda disregarding these... (even if they've been on and off for 1 hour) Also baby has been moving like crazy too.
Any tips?

I was pretty confused when I saw your name with this post! It sounds like contractions to me. They were very mild when they started for me, not painful at all. But they were close together, and it all happened fast, so I knew it was them. Good luck, hope you get to meet your baby girl soon!

@artbee: I know right?! Odd that I've given birth already but never had to "calculate" my contractions. Guess it was easy the first time around.

@blushink: maybe you should break out a timing app on your phone, just so you can see how close together they are.

They are not that painful to begin with. Yeah, maybe just start keeping track!

The very first contraction I felt was like a very, very mild period cramp that lasted maybe 10 seconds. I thought, "Hm, that's strange." And then 20 minutes later, the same thing. Then it continued like that all day long...

Well they've been pretty intense for a little over an hour, my back is killing me!!! (i get contractions both in the front and in my back)
But now, they've slowed down. Almost stopped.
Did baby move a lot when you were having contractions? She's been going nuts for the last 1.5 hours. Now, it's quiet (seeing the contractions are less intense)

Baby was moving around less that day...I still felt movement but it was less. As if she was just getting ready to be born. 
Are you okay? Did you call doctor? Have you timed your contractions?

@Rubies: I'm okay... contractions are almost done (for now, I imagine)
I'll start timing them when they start over again. I'm just trying to remember when I need to go to the hospital, when they are 5 mins apart? (seeing it's my second)
I should go check in my labor book...
I'm editing nursery pics... so i don't want to give birth now. lol

@blushink: The 5-1-1 rule is when your contractions are coming every 5 minutes, lasting 1 minute each, and it's been going on for 1 hour.

I felt like a terrible mother-to-be! I didn't bother timing anything until we got in the car to go to the hospital. My water broke, so I called the doctor to give him a heads up, and he told me to come in and get checked out. An hour later we made our way in, and suddenly. they. hit. I knew they were there because I couldn't think through them!

I had braxton hicks for weeks before delivery! Just hardening of the uterus and extremely uncomfortable. I knew it was labor when it progressed to a point where I could not walk through them and I could not talk through them.

Lets say i need to concentrate on them passing... but not intense enough to stop waling.

It was pretty obvious when I went into labor. Contractions hurt like nothing I'd ever experienced and came every 3-4 minutes!

So ya, since last night... nada.
I'm so not happy with my body right now. I've had contractions on saturday for 1.5 hours and some last night... but nothing today.
Now to think of it.... she hasn't moved much today.
I think I need to monitor her... hmmm, this doesn't sound so good.

@Mrsdaredevil: due date the 13th! But this is my second (usually arrives earlier) my first was 1 week late. (and induced) so I never really had contractions at home before.
