I'm so nervous about the idea of leaving LO with someone, and my IL's would be happy to watch him but they live 40 minutes away and have a really busy social schedule. I was thinking last night that it would be really nice to have a night out with DH!

We aren't to the point with feeling comfortable leaving LO with someone we do not know. However, I used to find my nanny jobs through sittercity.com or care.com.

@FutureMrsMcK: We have found 3 sitters we liked on sittercity.com and have interviewed 1 so far and we really like her. I like the fact you can do background and DMV check on the sitters.

What about your LO's daycare? Some of the teachers at my friend's daycare also take sitting jobs!

I'd ask neighbors! Haven't gotten to that point yet but if you use care.com note that you have to request a background check , they don't do them automatically like I think their ads imply ( I worked on there for a while)

We found a babysitter through DH's colleagues. A few have university aged daughters who babysat kids in the past.
