It came naturally to me, but! A lactation consultant came to my room both days I was at the hospital to give me tips and to check on how things were going.

I didn't take a breastfeeding class.

When LO was born, my nurse came and helped me all throughout the night. BF was a rocky start because my colostrum hadn't even come in AND LO was tongue-tied so it was a no-win. A few days later, LO's tongue was clipped, my milk came in and it just got better.

I did no preparation besides deciding with my husband that we would put all efforts toward breastfeeding. When LO was born we had a LC come to the room twice but it wasn't till we checked out that I had issues. I went to a support group with a LC twice a week while on my maternity leave. I also made a weekend call to a local LLL support line.

I ended up having a lot of issues so we stopped.... but I took the class and loved it. I think I found the nurses at the hospital the most helpful though. Nobody could help my milk not coming in though

I read a bunch of mommy blog posts about it. I didn't take a BF class but our birthing class discussed BF a little. I also went to a le leche meeting a few weeks before my due date - nicest ladies ever!
