It was a bit difficult for me to pump wean, too. I just gradually reduced the amount of time I was pumping during the session I wanted to eliminate. Some people go cold-turkey, but I would've been too engorged to do that.

I just stopped cold turkey. I was pumping about 4 times a day at that point (liv was a year old)
ETA-I did get engorged, so when It would get uncomfortable, Id use my hand pump to relieve the tiniest bit of pressure. Like an ounce or less.

@Weagle: @LivsMama: I'm trying cold turkey today. I have enough milk in my freezer and fridge to get her through her first birthday. I'm so over the pump it is not even funny.
@pregnantbee: do you pump 4x/day at work or is this at work and home you are pumping 4x?

I just dropped sessions cold turkey. I was always struggling to pump his daily intake, so dropping sessions never led to engorgement. I started by dropping my pump session after he went to bed, and then we had a four day weekend when he turned one and the doctor said that we could just try him cold turkey on whole milk instead of mixing with breastmilk. Well he loved it and never looked back, so the next work day I didn't pump before work and only pumped once late morning when I was feeling full. After a week of that I stopped pumping altogether and we're only nursing before bed now.

@mediagirl: Pumping 3x at work and 1x at home before I go to bed. I'd like to drop the 9p one, but I end up way too uncomfortable if he sleeps all night. I'd also like to drop the lunch pump so I can have some freedom back.
