Ugh I get so frustrated when DD won't eat her food. Lately she hardly eats anything other than bread and string cheese. Most of it she flat out refuses to even try. I hate seeing so much food go to waste. How do you deal with it?

I usually eat what she doesnt to avoid wasting it. If i am skeptical about her liking something i will serve myself a little less to anticipate this.
I swear my toddler lo woild be happy if all she ate was bread, cheese, and fruit!

I eat it or save it for her daycare lunch. Sometimes she eats better when kids around her are chowing down on their lunches.

I use to eat it...but I mean, eating my own dinner + her scraps + DS scraps made me pack on pounds lol. So I usually save it for the next day or toss it.

@mrs confetti - as I was sweeping up the food thrown on the floor I said to DH "this is why we need a dog!"

I feel you. It kills me to toss free range organic eggs, wild alaskan salmon, and so on.
I've started just giving the kids like two pieces of each thing to start, and they get more off of my plate when they've finished those. As they get older and can manage bigger pieces, it's easier to save for the next meal too. But typically, I just end up with a bigger portion when they eat less, and a smaller portion when they are hungrier

Yep my dog saves me a ton of cleaning. Honestly though I try to give small portions and then add more if he keeps eating to cut down on waste.

@merryc and @scg00387 - DD usually eats dinner before we do since she goes to bed early and we don't get home in time to make dinner for everyone. It would definitely help if she ate the same as us!
Usually I try to save her leftovers but she usually won't eat it the next day either. Sigh, I really didnt want a picky eater but it looks like I've got one!

I save it for another meal if it can be saved. Or, I make a plate for myself and give him a little bit from my plate so I can always reserve more if he eats it all.
