M is almost 5 months and we BF but supplement with formula.

we breastfeed but add a little concentrated formula because she was having issues with weight gain even though I have plenty of breast milk. LO is 5 months old today.
she will be starting in solids exactly a month from today! So excited

formula with solids. hes been on cereal for about a week and a ha;f and just had his first veggie...peas(GROSS!!!)

@sarbear: fun! I'm trying to get my husband to introduce solids but since the doc said 6 months he's willing to do the mesh teethers at 5.5 months. hehe

She's onto finger foods. She eats what we eat, and drinks cows milk and water.

@regberadaisy: that's cute he's waiting because the doc said to. our doctor was all about him starting solids now because he's more interested in our food than his bottle. :o)

We did formula for about 2 weeks until he refused it. We do neocate splash now instead of whole milk at daycare.

@brownie: is that in lieu of cow's milk or helps regulate his system so that he can have food/dairy he might have a allergy to?

DD is 5 months and we ebf, just about exclusively nursing. We'll start solids after she can sit up well, hoping to push it back as long as possible. =)

LO is 15 months and we BF + solids, but mostly solids because he eats everything we eat!

@regberadaisy: LO is only on breastmilk, bottles during the day M-F and from the source when I'm home. Solids in a month! I can't wait to see her reaction to food.

@regberadaisy: in lieu of cows milk. He breastfeeds but was and is so underweight we wanted to make sure he got the right mix of fats etc. so we chose that. At home he just nurses more often.

@mrsjazz: can't wait for solids too! I think m is going to love it! We've been letting her smell food & spices. She sucks on my water glass. The other day I let her smell a plum I was eating and she starting licking it! She got all giddy and smiley afterwards!
Our ped said to wait till 6 months but I think she's reall interested! My husband wants to wait like the ped said so our compromise is at 5.5 to put some in a mesh teether. -
Oops I voted ebf because that's what I did when she was that age.
Now she eats mostly solids, whole milk and possibly some colostrum from me -
100% boobies for now. will be bottle feeding breast milk when I go back to work next month

We do baby food and we're starting to do a bit of baby led weaning.
