Our crib mattress just arrived! DH and I are going to go shop for bedding later today...
How do you protect your crib mattress? Do you just put on a fitted sheet? Or do you use a waterproof pad, and sheet savers? What are your tricks?

We have a little water proof pad thing on there.
But oddly enough there hasn't been any issues yet.

I have the water proof pad, too, but I don't think you really need it. Maybe it will become more relevant once my daughter is in undies? We don't really have any diaper leakage ....

We have the waterproof mattress pad, and though I haven't necessarily needed it there have been some times when she spit up quite a bit in her sleep, and I'm sure it helped out somewhat.

We have a fitted sheet and a sheet saver for her drool.

So, a friend just gave me this advice. She layered the crib - waterproof mattress pad, sheet, waterproof mattress pad, sheet, sheet. This way if there was spit-up, pull off one sheet. If there's an explosion, take off the top layer. No need to remake the crib. I loooooved that idea!

we have a bedbug cover, then a waterproof mattress pad and a sheet. the waterproof mattress pad has been absolutely essential because charlie tends to throw up a lot. otherwise we'd have one stained mattress by now!

Waterproof mattress pad for us! It was a life saver, especially later on when potty training!

We also have a waterproof cover under the sheet, though we haven't really needed it aside from a few copious spit-up incidents. But yeah, I think this is something that becomes more essential as baby grows.

Waterproof cover and sheet, and even that seems unnecessary sometimes!
