It's really important to me. I put environmental impact as a high priority in all consumer decisions I make, or at least I try to. After that is health concerns and animal welfare, both also very important to me. I do make sure to get organic dairy products that are vat pasteurized or regular pasteurized and avoid the UHT stuff. Fortunately I live in an area where there are a lot of options on the grocery shelf.
But, I do admit that I sacrificed the organic food concern when picking out a daycare. DD's current daycare doesn't put a high priority on organic meals, unlike a lot of more expensive centers around here. The tuition difference is astronomical, like double what we're paying, for those places.

Somewhat important, maybe a 6? I buy organic milk and chicken & some produce (especially if for LO), but just can't afford it all the time/for everything. I look for local produce & choose cage free eggs. I need to find a local source for eggs, but keep forgetting since I don't buy them real often.

7/8. Our eating habits changed dramatically when our LO was born, and we are more aware of where our food comes from. I prefer organic and all natural foods when possible, which can be pricey when you add in all of the food allergies we have to accommodate for to keep the kids safe. We spend a ridiculous amount of money on food, but I've accepted it.

1. I don't make a point to buy anything organic. Though I've done it with some fruit when they look to be in better condition. Or bananas that happened to be more ripe and ready to eat. Not often though because of the price.

If science can make a more nutritious, less prone to pest infestation, faster growing source of food, sign me up!

@lovehoneybee: Same here! There is actually a farm store next to DD's daycare that grows food across the street from our housing plan. We try to buy as much produce there as possible. I can't wait until she's old enough to understand it.
