LO will be 1 in a few weeks at which point I am planning to stop pumping at work. I currently pump twice (once at 10:30 and once at 2). I am considering splitting the difference and going to one pump session around noon starting next week.
How long before you quit pumping at work did you go down to one session?

I stopped pumping at work around 11 months as I had enough of a freezer stash to get me to 1 year. I think I went to 1 session maybe a few weeks before I stopped.

@MUI831: Yeah, I have a couple hundred oz in my freezer stash, so I'm not worried about making it to a year. I'm more worried about being engorged because I still do get engorged occasionally. Did you notice a dip in your supply when you went down to 1 pumping session?

Once Xander turned one, I dropped a pumping session at work each week. So I went from 3 for a week, to 2 for a week, to 1 for a week, and then stopped. And each day, I would pump for a little bit less until I dropped the session.

i stopped pumping at work around 15 months and now at almost 20 months, we are still doing 2 nursing sessions a day (morning and bedtime). I don't foresee LO giving up either on his own for a while, though I think if I wanted to give up the morning one it would be easier to distract him with other things.
Also, from about 12-14 or 15 months, we were probably doing 3 nursing sessions (morning, after work and bedtime). He gave up the after work one gradually so it is hard to say exactly when.
eta. when i was pumping at work from 12-15 months, it was only at lunchtime and i skipped days more and more before i stopped completely.

@lawbee11: I don't remember there being a big dip. I was only nursing morning and at night at that point and don't remember him having a lot of issues when I would nurse on the weekends. Then again, he did self wean right around a year and I don't know if that's b/c my supply dipped or if he was just done.

oh and i never felt engorged or a dip. It seems my supply adjusted accordingly.

I think I was doing 1 pump per day for about 3 -4 weeks or so? I stopped pumping when she was 13 months.

I went to one session around 16 months and stopped pumping around 19 months. No engorgement issues but I still feel a little tingly around the time for my afternoon pump. I still nurse quite a bit when I'm home with her.

I started out pumping at 12 and 4, then I dropped the 4 session and moved pumping to 2ish. Then I just stopped pumping. But I was on decongestants for a really bad sinus infection that took a huge hit on my supply, and that's why I decided I had to stop BFing/pumping. I never got engorged or leaked during the day. There were a couple days when I hadn't BF or pumped for like 24 hours and I had a problem, but my supply tanked really quickly.

I went down to one pumping session last month. I went from 3 to 2 to 1. I went pump free two weeks ago. yay!!!! I nurse at night if I'm feeling engorged or if he wants to nurse. Otherwise, I give him a bottle of frozen BM.
