I go by the 6-6-6 rule. 6 hours on the counter, 6 days in the fridge, 6 months in the freezer.

@prettylizy: is it really 6 weeks in the fridge?! I thought it was 3-4 days. ahhhhh totally gonna have to learn all the rules again!

I think so, Kellymom suggested that you treat it like any dairy, and smell it. When it smells sour it's no good.

I can't break myself of our NICU guidelines, 1 hour for breast milk if it has been re-warmed, 2 days in the fridge, 1 month in a fridge freezer, 6 months in a chest freezer.
