I am curious to see how long it will take you or did it take you to get to the hospital once you were in labour? We live in the country and it normally takes around 40 mins from our house to the city and probably about an extra 2 mins to get to the hospital. Im sure DH will make it to the city within a half hour!

I was in labor in the middle of the night so it was a quick trip. Probably just 15 minutes. With traffic it would have been 30.

There are two hospitals within 5 minutes of my house. I originally was going to deliver at the closest one, but after several bad experiences with the doctor, I switched to a doctor out in the 'burbs and now the hospital is 20 minutes outside of town. Most people go into the city to give birth, and I'm leaving it
I like the doctor that much and the hospital is almost brand new though.

8 minutes on a weekend or overnight. 12 minutes in traffic.

@Lindsay05: We drove ... wait for it ... almost two hours. There was a closer hospital (45 mins.) but I wasn't comfortable with the standard of care/amenities there. Fortunately, even though my water broke, my contractions didn't really get going on their own, so I had no major discomfort on the trip.
@Hanasu: Our little town had a hospital that didn't deliver babies either! And there wasn't even a gynecologist in town. Sucked.

15 minutes but with all the traffic lights, probably around 30. My OB's office is across the street from my hospital so I time how long it takes me every week I go in lol. The main street to the hospital is ALL pot holes! Really, the bumpiest ride. I feel terrible for those who are in an ambulance speeding down that road.

For our son, the hospital was 5 minutes away by car. For our daughter, it was 10 minutes by car.

Hmm...hopefully like 20 minutes by car. I'm REALLY hoping I don't go into labor during rush hour!

2.5-3 hours for my first. Now we live within five minutes walking distance to a the hospital I'm delivering at, so this delivery will be a bit different.

We should be able to get heter in 10-15 minutes depending on traffic! Less if it's the middle of the night and there is no one else on the road. I like that it is so close, less to worry about in my mind.

This is interesting! I had a little freak out yesterday that we wont make it in time but i think we will be OK. Luckily the city I doctor in is small enough that there is no real 'rush hour'. And we will hit maybe one light on the way to the hospital.

Our hospital is 35 minutes away with no traffic (we went in at midnight, so traffic wasn't an issue). There are hospitals closer, but I really liked the hospital near my office, which is further away. I was really grateful I didn't go into active labor at, say, 5 PM on a Friday...

Lol, maybe 10 minutes? The hospital is right in between work and our house, so it would've been 10 minutes either way.
