Curious how long some people made it with pumping (not exclusively)? Especially WOHM? My baby is nearing the 5 month mark and I am pumping at work and BFing at home. I work full time and went back when he was 8 weeks old. I haven't had to give any formula at all yet but I have 1 8 oz bag of frozen milk left so I will be supplementing just around the corner...just curious how long others made it

I pumped for 9 months! My app says I pumped 1060 times this year! I was sooo happy to stop...especially at work! I weaned in September and I have been using my pumped stash (and supplementing with formula) since then.

I've been pumping for three months and will probably continue for another at least 3-4 months.

I pumped with DD for 12 months but had to supplement with formula from around 5m; she nursed until 14m. DS is currently 3m and I haven't had to supplement with formula yet; I pump at work and have been back since he was 9w. I currently pump just enough to cover daily bottles with maybe an ounce or two extra a week. I plan to pump for 12m again.

I've been pumping at work for almost 2 months now. We've only used 3 bags of frozen milk in that time, and I'm adding milk at the end of the week to the freezer stash. I'm hoping to not have to give DD formula ever, just because I don't want to buy it and she's used to breast milk. Pumping sure is annoying though!

I pumped for my son until he was 12 months old. I pumped twice while at work and nursed him at lunch time. We didn't supplement until he was 9 months old and we did it because of weight gain issues not supply issues. I usually only pumped enough for the next day bottles. I made sure that he didn't get too much while at daycare. The best thing was pumping first thing in the morning while he nursed the other side. Then I put him on that side I pumped for more demand. I also pumped on the weekend at least once a day just for the extra.

I nursed for the first 10 weeks or so and eventually started exclusively pumping after I went back to work. She's 5 months now and I plan on continuing until I have enough in my frozen stash to give her one bag of thawed milk each day until she turns one-- I think around the 7 month mark. 2 more months to go!

I am still pumping at 14.5 months. I'm down to once a day, and sometimes I skip it. I'm definitely ready to switch over to cow's milk while I am at work, but there have been other factors (illness, change in caregivers) so I have delayed it. I'm planning on nursing for a long time, though.

My lo is 6 months and I'm still pumping at work. I can't see stopping anytime soon unless my supply drops drastically. Even then, I probably need to keep pumping 3x at work to get enough to fill her daycare bottles (3 5oz bottles/day).

I have been pumping for 6.5 months. I breastfeed in the morning and before bed time, pump twice at work and I give him 2 bottles a formula a day. I don't have to give him formula (I have enough milk) but the formula is a special preemie formula that helps him put on weight faster. I'll probably stop pumping around 10 months. I don't enjoy being tied down to the pump.

LO is almost six months, still pumping 3x a day at work and nursing the rest of the time. I hate pumping but hope to make it to a year at least. We'll see how things evolve as she starts solids.

LO is 8 months, I've been pumping since she was about 2 months. I have a good supply of breastmilk in the freezer. I pump 2-3x a day at work. I will probably drop to 1 pump when she's 1 year.
We've used frozen often since I give her frozen on Mondays to cycle through my stash. We also use it when I'm going to be late coming home from work and once a month when I do my volunteer work. -

Man, I was hoping this would make me feel better! I don't plan to stop pumping or BF'ing any time soon...my suppy just can't keep up with him. I pretty much have to break into my frozen supply every week to stay on top of it. He takes 3 5oz bottles/day and I don't make enough each day for that! I might make 12 oz/day.... So I will likely have to supplement with formula very soon! He had a tongue tie and poor weight gain at the very beginning so maybe that killed my supply? My first pumping session today at work I only got 3 oz!

I pumped/BF for about 10 months. The last month or so, I only did it at night and in the morning. I was so tired of pumping at work - I felt like I couldn't get anything done!

DD is almost 7 months and I started supplementing about a month ago. I'm planning on cutting out my pumping session at work by the end of the year. Then I'll nurse her in the morning and night, and a dream feed (which I also plan on transitioning out in the new year).
I originally thought I'd go a year. After she arrived I thought 6 months would be okay. I really hate pumping at work, or just pumping in general. I feel pretty good that we did 6 months EBF and that she's still getting 2-3 good BF sessions per day.

@Amelieisme: I pumped for 12 months and BF for 13 months. By 11 months I was going down to one session a day at work. There were definitely days when my output at work was less than what I sent to day care, but I always made it up with an extra before bedtime pump, maybe you could try that?
