I have been breastfeeding/pumping for 7 months. My original goal was 6 months. I'm going to try and get to 10 months, but I'm not sure if I will make it. I really dislike pumping right now.

I am still nursing at 17 months. I hope to be done before 24 months but maybe a bit sooner.

@AutumnLove: I don't think you should put the word *only* in front of 9 months . . . that is an awesome accomplishment!

@LittleK: Yeah. Pumping blows. It is amazing what mothers are willing to do if it has even the slightest possibility of benefitting their LOs.

@MsLipGloss: I feel bad for wanting to wean, but I'm so tired of pumping. LO was a NICU baby, so I pumped non stop the first 2 months of his life. I love breastfeeding him so that's why I continue pumping, to keep my supply up for now.

I am at 4 months right now, and hoping to make it to 6 months. I think I'm going to stop at 6 even if it still working out, we have really struggled to make it this far and still don't enjoy it.

Originally I'd planned on a year too, but I also didn't realize how much work it would be and how it would bother me that my body is STILL not my own.

@LittleK: I hear ya. I had to pump early to help establish my supply, and I still don't pump enough to cover all of her daytime feeds (every once in a blue moon I do, but she usually gets 1 formula feed a day). And the small freezer stash that I did have--and worked so frickin hard for!--had to be thrown out when I found out I had thrush. Even after all that, it still makes me tear up to think about weaning. I love nursing my LO, too.

15 months and i'm not ready to stop yet, but i am ready to cut out all the daytime sessions and only nurse at morning and night. alas that is not olive's plan!

I nursed FOREVER as a baby/kid, and more or less planned on doing the same with my own. (I was sick all the time and my mom figured it was the best thing she could do for me....so I nursed for years...) But having twins and a low supply to boot made it impossible for me to primarily BF. However, I do nurse both kids a few times a day and will keep doing it as long as long as I have milk. My supply has taken a big hit with DD getting teeth though (nursing strike and biting). It may not be much quantity, but I'd love to make it to a year, just to keep passing those antibodies and such. We're at almost 6 months now. Once I hit 6 months, I may stop pumping and just let it be what it is.

8 months and still hanging in there! I've loved nursing, but recently I've started to feel "over it." My goal is 1 year, but I may cut out a feeding at 9 months. Then she would nurse 2-3 times a day and get one bottle of pumped milk.

2 years. My kid was a BF monster!

We made until 2.5 months, at which point I realized my supply just could not keep up. Original goal was 6 months.

I have thought a lot about the next baby, which at this point I'm thinking is probably two years away or so. I really, really want nursing to work next time, but if I have the same issues I'm not going to freak out as much since I have seen how well my 7 month old is doing with formula. But, if I could have my wish I would again go w/ the 6 month goal and then see how I'm feeling/how baby is doing at that point.

Still nursing frequently at 16 months. These days I'm torn between loving it and wanting to continue forever, and being desperate to get my body and fertility back. Nursing is making me gain weight, and I'm sick of it. I'd also really like to conceive again. Torn.

We EBF for almost 4 months. When I went back to work I couldn't keep up so we did formula at daycare and BF at home. Now at 9.5 months we mostly do formula. He still BF at night but I'm having a hard time getting him to BF during the day if I'm home. I'm happy with how long we made it. And I do have a small freezer stash to go through still.

@highwire: keep up the good work Mama, you've done an amazing job to stick with as long as you have!
