I requested it as soon as I got there, and it took about an hour before it was in. The next two were in pretty quickly since they were already there to adjust or pull it out.

My first one was immediate because the guy came in and was like "Hey, we're going to start your pitocin so we're going to do the epidural first."

When the first one failed and wore off, it took probably at least a half an hour if not an hour to get them in to try again. I don't really remember because I was in so much pain at that point.

1 1/2 and i was miserable and almost in tears because they came in every 10 mins saying about 10 more minutes!!

The hospital was crazy busy too when I delivered! We actually had to wait 4 hours or so for the recovery room after delivery.

For the epidural I waited about 30-45 minutes.

Wow, I am shocked by some of these answers! I got my epidural within minutes of requesting it. I guess it helped that it was like 5 a.m. on a weekday over Christmas vacation.

I waited about an hour. It probably would have been faster but there was a girl ahead of me!

You mean rice bags won't be enough? ;D Our birth class kept talking about rice bags ... about how they don't provide rice bags anymore, but we're welcome to bring our own and heat it up in the microwave. Lol!

i'd say it was close to an hour and he did a great job.

I wish they had been busy and I could have waited longer--then I might have turned it down.
I voted 30 min, but it could have been an hour or more--my labor was 29 hours, so... I lost track of time.

I got one almost immediately. Within 10 mins?

Actually less than 30 mins.. I was dilated to 9 when I got my epidural.
