How long was your SO/spouses leave after birth? Just curious...I'm sure this has been asked before.
EDIT: I actually meant "how much time did they actually take off after your LO's birth?"

He took off one week when I had DS. I'm hoping next time he can take at least 2 weeks off.

Both girls were born on a Wednesday and he was back to work with one on a Monday and one on a Tuesday. It wasn't nearly long enough. I cried when he had to go back, hormones!

How long was his actual "paternity leave" or how did he take off (including vacation)?
Dh took off a little over a week I think? Actual paternity leave was less. -
Officially, he only received 3 days of paternity leave, which didn't even cover the time I was in the hospital! (I was induced on a Mon evening, LO born Wed, home Fri.) He took PTO though for an additional 2 weeks + 1 day, so he was off almost 3 weeks altogether

4 weeks for LO 1 and 5 for LO 2.

Baby was born on a Wednesday, he went back to work the following Tuesday. My MIL arrived the night before he went back to work, which helped. I still cried though...
ETA: I answered your poll wrong... I said what he took off. I have no idea what his paternity leave was - he didn't utilize it. It's not ever been used in his office and he had vacation time.

He took 2 weeks vacation when LO was born and then took a 4 week paternity leave when LO was a little older so we could travel to see his family in Europe.

He took 4 days vacation. I had a year maternity leave which you can split with your partner but we decided that it was best if I took the entire leave.

He only took 1 week, even though he asked for and was approved for 2. He got "bored" and said I "was handling everything well" after the second week. I was furious at the time, but now I am kind of glad he still has the vacation days to use when our child care provider is off.

He took about a week and a half off, then worked half days for another week. Even when he works a full day, he's home by 3, though.

six weeks, he banked vacation time, got one? two? weeks official paternity leave, had an additional vaca week that was added due to a promotion, and holiday time (DS was born day before thanksgiving).

2 weeks, thank goodness. I think he was ready to back sooner, but I needed him for those two weeks!

He didn't take any time off.

We were SO lucky that he had tons of vacation time. He took maybe 2 weeks off and then another 4 weeks where he only went in on Fridays.

We got home from the hospital on Friday and he was back at work Monday. It sucked.

My husband actually got no time off - his requests were denied even though he had the time to take. Luckily he had the option of working from home and my daughter was born on a Friday so he had the weekend off anyway. Got home from the hospital Sunday and he had to work Monday. Needless to say, he was not happy with that employer and ended up taking a new MUCH more family-friendly job one month later!

We timed it so DD was born right before summer vacation started (DH is a teacher) so he was home with me for 12 weeks.

Last time he took a week off, this time he's hoping to swing the same if not 2 weeks. It sucked that last time we were in the NICU the whole time & when we got home he was back at work.

For LO1 he took six weeks off and LO2 two weeks off. He didn't take all that time off consecutively.

He had two weeks paternity leave (one paid, one unpaid) and was also allowed to take two weeks holiday. However, I took a week to be induced so he only had three weeks with us after E was born.

The plan is for him to be home 100% the first week, and then we'll go from there since my mom is available to help me. He doesn't have a regular 9-5 office job so in some sense it's more complicated and also more flexible at the same time.

Hubs took 4 weeks off and then worked from home twice a week for another 4 weeks. I'm so appreciative of how much time he took off and how present he was in the beginning.
Hoping he'll take another 4 weeks for baby #2, but I suspect he'll only take 2-3 weeks.

He doesn't get leave and just started a new job but his boss was nice enough to let him take a week off and even paid him for it!

He took 2 weeks off. LO ended being in NICU for a week, so we only got one week off as a family of three at home, which sorta was disappointing.
