I'm a little sad that I can't remember the specifics. I think it was 12 retrieved and 8(?) fertilized normally. On day three we transferred two, had another one in good shape and one that didn't look like it would make it. On day 5 we had one to freeze.

13 retrieved, 11 fertilized, transferred 2 on day five, 3 left on day six (on day 5 they wanted to chill watch two of them so they transferred two, kept it two going, and froze the 5th). The two day 6 embryos are the ones that ended up turning into my twins.

10 retrieved, 7 fertilized, 5 left on day 5. 3 of those were grade A, 2 were grade B. We transferred one grade A embryo and froze the other 4.

Going to transfer 2 again for my FET

2 fertilized & transferred
1 baby (due June 4)
0 frozen
I am jumping way ahead but I am so worried we won't be able to have a second child. I am 38.

13 eggs
8 fertilized
All 8 made it to Day 5 and we transferred 2
But none of the remaining 6 made it to freeze

5 retrieved
4 fertilized
2 transferred (day 4)
none made it to freeze
@kentuckygirl: You can always try a different protocol!

@spaniellove: true! I don't need to worry about it now, but I sometimes can't help it thanks!

@Leialou: My numbers are similar to yours!
13 retrieved, 10 fertilized and made it to day 5, 8 survived biopsy for PGD and freeze. But only 1 was chromosomally normal so we transferred that one.

IVF #1: 16 retrieved, 8 fertilized normally, 3 made it to day 5, transferred 1, none made it to freeze
IVF #2: 19 retrieved, 9 fertilized normally, not sure how many made it to day 5 (2 blasts, a few early blasts, maybe 5 total?), transferred 2, none made it to freeze
I don't know if my clinic was just strict, or if my eggs are sucky, but with 35 eggs and no frozen embryos it's very frustrating. I'm switching clinics and this is one of my main questions I want answered.

4 eggs retrieved, all 4 fertilized, 2 transferred on day three and the other 2 were not suitable to freeze.

Me too!
We had 17 retrieved, 14 fertilized. 12 were still doing well on Day #3... Day #5, we transferred 2 "very pretty" blasts. 3 were frozen on Day #6 or #7.

We had 19 retrieved. I don't remember how many fertilized but we had 9 embryos on day 3. Transferred two perfect blasts on day 5, and just 1 was frozen the next day.

This is going to sound crazy but I was overstimulated:
39 eggs
29 fertilized with ICSI
1 fresh transfer
10 made it to freeze
nectarine / 2433 posts
@GreenThumb: Wow, that is crazy. I remember you mentioning somewhere else that you got overstimulated but that is a lot of eggs!

@FliegepilzHut: @mrswin: Oops, just seeing this now ! I did have moderate OHSS after the egg retrieval and was too naive in the process to know that we (the doc) should have canceled the fresh transfer and just gone with an FET. My doc never suggested canceling and I may have been putting on a brave face about my discomfort level (how do you know when uncomfortable is actually a problem?). I got pretty sick right after my transfer and ended up going to the ER two days later because my electrolyte levels were all messed up (ended up on blood thinners - I know everyone thinks Menopur is the devil, but Lovenox is really the worst!!). But I got better, didn't have to have anything major done, and we ended up with those 10 frosties! So definitely hoping I never have to do a fresh cycle again. I'll take FET any day over that experience!! Don't wish it on anyone!!

@GreenThumb: Sorry you had to go through that! That is one heck of a silver lining, though!

Mine is the worst
14 retrieved
10 mature
2 fertilized
0 left
Chemical pg
Panic set in. Cycle 2 starting soon
No one can tell us why only 2 fertilized
nectarine / 2433 posts
@leanne82: Did you do ICSI or natural fertilization? Do you have an male factor issues?
nectarine / 2433 posts
I had 17 retrieved, 16 fertilized (ICSI), transferred 1 day 5 blast and have 2 frozen!

Mine response above wasn't very specific. Let me elaborate:
IVF#1: 12 retrieved
9 fertilized
8 normal on day 5
2 transferred: 1=Dylan, (other split into 3 and we reduced)
4 frozen

@leanne82: I'm sorry. Are they going to do anything differently this time around?
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@leanne82: I'm sorry, I know how much a cycle with poor results is. I'm sort of in the same boat. What protocol did you use the first cycle? How did your E2 levels progress? Are they changing it for the second?
16 retrieved
4 fertilized normally
8 were polyspermic
0 made it to day 3 xfer
They are calling this cycle a bust due to egg quality. My e-levels went up very fast, and they reduced FSH every other day. I read about others where reducing FSH like can yield poor results and it's better to find the right dose and keep it consistent.
coffee bean / 34 posts
@mrswin: yes we did icsi and have low sperm count issues. My tests were normal. I did respond to stims very fast so idk if that fried them and ruined the quality?
coffee bean / 34 posts
@PurplePumps: I believe we did antagonist protocol. All my levels were normal. I'm really scared of another poor fert rate this next time. Idk what caused such a bad rate.
nectarine / 2433 posts
@leanne82: Did the embryologist give you any information? I know with ours she mentioned that she felt our fert rate would have been significantly lower without the ICSI because the shells were tough...maybe ask the RE for the embryologists feedback. It definitely could be that a quick response to the stims produced poor quality eggs. Are they changing your protocol this time?
coffee bean / 34 posts
@mrswin: the embryologist told us nothing. Our doc said the answer is there are no answers . we've moved states so we found another clinic in Colorado with great success rates but I'm still scared they aren't finding something with me as my tests are normal. We will be meeting with our new doc tomorrow to talk more about our chances .
nectarine / 2433 posts
@leanne82: Good luck with your new doctor tomorrow Hopefully they will be able to review the notes from your previous cycle at the other clinic and maybe they will "see" something. Have you had your AMH tested? Has you DH had a DNA fragmentation done? Both these tests are a little less common but can be helpful!
I would push the new doctor to take a completely different approach or be able to explain what they will do differently to try to get a better result.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@leanne82: I did antagonist as well (will be switching to long lupron to have a slower, longer stim period). It does suck that when there's no answers to what went wrong, but I think they just don't know enough to say what exactly could have happen if the numbers were all good. Are you going to CCRM?
